Wawa is marking its 60th anniversary next month with a special giveaway for its customers. On April 16, Wawa stores across the country will offer free hot coffee of any size, available all day long.
In addition to the free coffee, customers can purchase select beverages such as teas, juices, and lemonade, as well as a special birthday cake donut, for just 60 cents. The company announced these promotions as part of its milestone celebration.
Honoring Customers and Community
As part of the anniversary festivities, each Wawa store will also recognize a valued customer, referred to as a “Day Brightener.” These individuals, who hold a special place in the hearts of store teams, will be presented with a sash, a commemorative mug, and other tokens of appreciation.
With more than 1,000 locations across six states—New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida—as well as Washington, D.C., Wawa has grown into a beloved convenience store chain. One of its signature offerings, Wawa-branded coffee, has been a staple since the 1970s and remains a customer favorite.
The History of Wawa
Wawa’s origins date back to 1803, when it was initially founded as an iron foundry. In 1865, the company transitioned into the textile industry under the name Millville Manufacturing Company.
The first Wawa Food Market opened on April 16, 1964, in Folsom, Pennsylvania. Since then, Wawa has expanded significantly while maintaining its headquarters in Wawa, Pennsylvania.
With its strong community presence and customer-first approach, Wawa’s 60th-anniversary celebration underscores its commitment to providing quality products and memorable experiences for its loyal patrons.
