The Mission Valley Choral Society showcased an impressive performance at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, featuring over 30 singers who captivated the audience on a Sunday afternoon.
This concert marked the choir’s second event of the Christmas concert weekend, following their previous performance at the St. Ignatius Mission. Under the guidance of Director Cathy Gillhouse, who assumed leadership last summer, the choir commenced their presentation by acknowledging the accompanist, Karla Gallatin, expressing gratitude for her remarkable contributions.
The repertoire for the concert encompassed 12 numbers, spanning from beloved carols like “Silent Night” to lesser-known pieces such as Gustav Holst’s “Christmas Day.” Additionally, the program included renditions of festive tunes like “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas with Pine Cones and Holly Berries.”
The venue, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, hosted a packed audience that echoed the sentiments of Christmas approaching. Attendees were immersed in the festive spirit, with many mentioning that the concert had beautifully evoked the essence of the holiday season.
